The 3 months awaited Gotheborg since the first time news was released in Singapore is now a reality ! Gotheborg arrived on 30Th December 2006 and now anchored behind the Great Vivo City of Singapore ! Had an opportunity to go aboard today and a few snaps about that venture !

It was cloudy today and so you find Gotheborg agog under great and popular clouds that is what Singapore makes uniquely Singapore !

A few fascinating facts about this Swedish Vessel-

Total Length about 60 Meters

Height about 47 meters - To guess the height of the ship, the Bridges across Singapore Expressways allow about 4.5 meters height traffic vehicles - Can you guess then height ? Its about 10 times that !

Other Guess to understand the height- Republic Plaza is just about 5 times the ship's height !

A few snaps here you find of this marvellous vessel of the millennium invigorating East India man and East India Company - Colonial Era and Sailors Saga !

Its expected to leave Singapore shores to 'Shennai' ( Wonder whats that ? Its Chennai in India !)

around 10th of January 2007 ! So the vessel's next anchoring is in India and the Madras City is preparing for its arrival with Swedish Trade and Cultural programs !

If we are able to catch it there we will put some more snaps of it on Marina Chennai !

How To Reach ? Take Bus 408 from Harbor Front MRT

When I visited Labrador Park I was astonished at the amount of Greenery a nearby city Park can have ! Its a marvellous place filled with tranquil surroundings, Greenery, thick vegetation, once side Sea taking and hitting the small Hill lock and the other Alexandra Road taking a great amount of traffic sailing smooth ! In between these two the Green pasture salutes the heroes of World War II with Secret Tunnels of Pasir Panjang discovered recently in year 2001 and made open to public in year 2005 by National Parks. The NParks of Singapore strives to keep these parks spic and span and with great amount of care. Here you find a few snaps of this great and picturesque place ! Also visited by walk near by Bukit Chandu, Canopy Walk - I went out of breath wondering at mystic valley view from this Canopy Walk ! and finally reaching the Kent Ridge Park on the other side and landing literally on the other side of the coast !!

Gotheborg To Visit Singapore

The Swedish Ship, a replica of the 18th century vessel Gotheborg will visit the great shores of Lion City Singapore during Christmas time this year.
The journey of the ship is a journey of Friendship and trade.
The ship has already visited Spain, Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia and China.
It would be arriving in Singapore December 30th.
The 21st Century Gotheborg has a interesting story.
The original Gotheborg was built in 1700s in Stockholm Sweden ! In those days Traders made voyages to China (there is also one more interesting journey made by China vessels in 1421 about that later some time when I get the time ) India etc.
The new Gotheborg takes the sea route taken by the original in 1700s.
Keep watch for information in the news papers during Christmas times and enjoy great Swedish Cultural,traditional snapshots and enjoy christmas holidays as well !!

A Night Ride on Tricycle - Singapore !

Why would any take a tricycle ride ?
In modern times we have fast moving cars jaguars !
Yet the old fashioned Tricycle ride is a very popular pastime for Singapore Tourists !
This happens mostly and I presume its the lovely technique of these tricycle runners to go in a group a sort of parade with chiming bells now and then ! Its a great and lovely site to behold !
Also a tricycle gives a great view of the City ! Its like a open windowed view of Lion city !

The 'Aliens' View of Happy Feet @ Singapore !

When I visited a few months back at Singapore Jurong Bird Park the view of the Penguins there in was marvellous experience for me for it is the first time I watched them so close by ! When I watched the recent movie Happy Feet I could correlate my watching them and the scene in that Movie !

As the Happy Feet found the Aliens hope we one day find in our Space endeavours Aliens too to know that there is beyond our universe(world) there is infinite possibilities of beautiful minds !!
