Fuk Tak Chi is one of the oldest Temples of Singapore. It was started in year 1824 by a small community of Hakka and Cantonese immigrants. The temple is built in the formal style of China's old magistrate courts.
Fuk Tak Chi Museum has also the credit of being Singapore's first Street Museum.It holds about 200 artefacts like intricate Peranakan jewellery, a charcoal iron and an opium smoker's lamp, mostly contributed by former residents of China Town!
